CHECK ORDER

Connection Troubleshooting Steps

First confirm that the local network can access ordinary websites normally. Then refresh the subscription, switch routes, and restart the client. This separates local network, subscription, individual route, and target-service issues, so you retain a clear basis for diagnosis instead of changing several settings at once.

When submitting a ticket, include the operating system, client, route name, target service, and steps already tried. Do not send the subscription link or password. The more complete the information, the easier it is to reproduce the affected stage.

ACCOUNT / SUBSCRIPTION

Accounts & Subscriptions

Covers sign-up, subscription access, subscription refreshes, device changes, and platform compatibility. Complete account actions in the user panel; the client is only used for importing and connecting.

What do I need to prepare when signing up?

No email address is required. Create a username and password to sign up. Use the username to access the user panel, and store the password separately rather than reusing it elsewhere. After signing up, you can view plans, subscription access, and client access in the user panel.

Where can I find my subscription link?

Sign in to the user panel and open Account Overview or Client Access, then choose the import method for your device. The subscription link adds available routes to the client, so you do not need to copy route parameters manually. Use the link only on your own devices and never post it publicly.

How do I update my subscription link?

Find the current subscription in the client and run an update or refresh. If the route list does not change, disconnect, reopen the client, and refresh again. If it still fails, get the subscription access link again from the user panel, delete the old subscription, and import it again. Do not edit the link manually.

Do I need to buy again after switching devices?

You do not need to purchase separately when changing devices. 42VPN supports unlimited devices, so you can use the active subscription linked to the same account on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux. On a new device, open Client Access from the user panel and import the subscription using the platform-specific method.

Which operating systems are supported?

Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux are supported. Permission prompts and import screens may vary by system, but the process is the same: get the client, import the subscription, allow the system to establish a VPN connection, then choose a route and check the exit status.

CONNECTION / FAULT

Connections & Troubleshooting

Connection issues should be isolated layer by layer. Check the local network first, then whether the subscription is updated, and finally whether the cause is an individual route, client setting, or target app.

What should I check first if the client suddenly cannot connect?

Disconnect first and confirm that the local network can open ordinary websites. Then refresh the subscription and try another route. If the client has not been restarted for a long time, quit it completely and reopen it. If results differ across networks, check the current network restrictions first, then submit a ticket with your system, client, and attempted routes.

Why is a particular app not using the proxy?

Check whether split tunneling rules are enabled and whether the target app is in a direct-connection or exclusion list. Confirm that the system VPN permission is still active, then fully close and reopen the app. If the browser works but the app does not, the issue is usually related to app routing, a background process, or the app’s own regional checks.

What should I do when it says connected but websites will not open?

Test several websites to distinguish a single-site issue from a complete request failure. Then disconnect, confirm that the direct connection works, and switch routes. If only a domain fails to open, restart the client and the system network connection to rebuild the resolution state. If the issue remains, include the target website, selected region, and client system in your ticket.

How do I deal with frequent disconnections?

On mobile devices, check whether the system restricts the client from running in the background, and avoid switching networks repeatedly while connected. On desktop devices, temporarily close software that takes over the system proxy or network interfaces, then reconnect. If only one route keeps disconnecting, switch to another route in the same region and include the affected route name in your ticket.

What should I do if no routes appear after importing the subscription?

Confirm that you imported the complete subscription access link, not an ordinary web address from the user panel. Then update the subscription in the client. If the client says the format is unsupported, return to the user panel and choose the import method that matches the current client. Delete the failed empty subscription and import it again instead of repeatedly overwriting the same entry.

SPEED / ROUTE

Speed & Routes

Route performance depends on the local network, physical distance, target service, and current usage scenario. Keeping one route fixed is not suitable for every region or application.

How should I troubleshoot lag during peak hours?

Stop bandwidth-heavy sync, download, and update tasks, then switch to another route in the same region. If the target service lets you choose a region, compare nearby regions as well. Do not judge speed by the route name alone; use actual loading, playback, and interaction performance on your current network. If the issue continues, record the usage scenario and route name before submitting a ticket.

In what order should I choose routes?

For everyday browsing and work, start with a geographically closer route, then choose the region required by the target service. Streaming and region-restricted content should use a route matching the content’s region. If nearby routes are congested, a neighboring region may work better. Disconnect before every switch so the previous connection state does not affect your assessment.

Why are long-distance routes usually slower?

Data travels over longer physical paths and through more network hops, which usually increases round-trip delay. Long-distance routes can also be affected by the local carrier’s exit, international links, and the target site’s entry point. When you need access to a specific region, balance regional matching against connection performance rather than always choosing the farthest route.

What should I do if streaming says the region does not match?

First confirm that the selected route region matches the target content region, then fully quit the streaming app or close the relevant webpages. Reconnect before reopening the service so the old session does not retain its previous regional state. The account region, content rights region, and payment region may also affect the result; changing routes cannot alter these account details.

What should I do if access to AI tools is unstable?

Start with one route that works reliably and avoid switching regions repeatedly during a session. Close old pages and create a new session, making sure the browser is not using another proxy extension at the same time. If login works but requests fail, compare other routes in the same region. The target service’s account status and regional rules should also be checked separately.

How broad is the route coverage?

42VPN covers 90+ countries / 200+ routes. Choose routes based on the target service, your current network, and actual connection performance. If a region has a temporary issue, use a nearby region for basic access first, then include the affected route name and usage scenario in your ticket.

BILLING / REFUND

Billing & Refunds

Monthly subscriptions reset data on the activation date, while data packages decrease with actual use. Payments, upgrades, and refunds are handled in the user panel, and order records support later verification.

What monthly subscription tiers are available?

Monthly subscriptions include ¥9.9/month with 60GB, ¥18/month with 250GB, and ¥28/month with 500GB. Choose based on your everyday data usage rather than price alone. Data resets monthly on the activation date, making these plans suitable for continuous use with a recurring allowance.

When does monthly subscription data reset?

Monthly subscription data resets each month on the activation date, not on a fixed calendar-month schedule. When checking your remaining data, also verify your activation date. If the client and user panel show different information, refresh the subscription first and use the account status in the user panel as the reference.

Do data packages expire?

Data packages remain available until used and never expire. Options include ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. They suit users with irregular usage who prefer data to decrease according to actual consumption. Choose based on long-term usage; there is no need to wait for a monthly reset.

How are mid-cycle plan upgrades handled?

For a mid-cycle monthly subscription upgrade, the price difference is prorated into the remaining days. Before upgrading, verify the current plan, remaining status, and target tier in the user panel, then continue from the plan entry. Do not create multiple orders for the same purpose, as this can make later verification difficult.

Which payment methods are supported?

Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT are supported. During checkout, choose an available method on the order page in the user panel and verify the amount and plan details. If the status does not update after payment, keep the order information and submit a ticket. Do not pay the same order repeatedly.

How do I request a refund?

42VPN offers a 14-day no-questions-asked refund. To request one, sign in to the user panel and submit a ticket with the relevant order and refund request for verification. Do not delete the order record before submitting; the refund scope and handling criteria are governed by the Terms of Use and order status.
